Inspiration. The Florentine Rose.
Early morning. The earth is preparing to greet the dawn. The first rays of sunlight quietly awaken the flower petals, and there is no moment more beautiful than this.
A Florentine stood lost in thought, leaning over a rose.
“I don’t think I have ever seen a flower more beautiful. How wondrous this moment is—the sheer joy of beauty. And yet, how fleeting.”
The sun climbed higher and higher, flooding the earth with light, while the rose continued to unfold toward it.
The Florentine did not notice how swiftly the day had passed. Twilight descended, and in the darkness the rose lost its brilliance—but in its place, its fragrance became extraordinarily tender.
It was only when the moon was already hanging above the city, a great round disk in the night sky, that he finally returned home, firmly resolved to come back to the beautiful flower in the morning.
Before dawn the next day, he left his house and greeted the new sunrise beside the rose.
And so the days went by. His work and daily cares were set aside; his whole life became concentrated in the present moment.
But one day the rose began to wither. Its petals fell, and its stem bowed toward the earth.
The Florentine was desperate. He could not bear to say farewell to beauty forever.
How could this be? How could one go on living when one can neither forget what one has seen nor find anything to take its place?
A ray of sunset touched the rosebush, and a tiny Angel appeared upon its leaves, barely visible within a glowing cone of light.
The Angel asked the Florentine:
“I can turn back time. Would you like me to? Would you like to live in peace, as you did before—before you encountered this stirring beauty? You would take another road. You would never see the rose, and there would never be another encounter on your path that you could not forget. There would be no pain of loss.
But there would be no beauty either.”
The Florentine fell silent, deep in thought.
“No. I do not want to forget what I have seen. And I am frightened by the thought that I might have taken another road and never seen this wondrous flower. Perhaps these days I spent beside the rose were the most important days of my life.
Perhaps they are life itself.”
“You are right,” the Angel agreed. “The beautiful flower did not bloom on your path by chance. It marked an important crossroads. Without the rose, you would have hurried past the turn you were meant to take, carried away by the bustle of ordinary days.”
The sun slipped behind the rooftops unusually quickly, and the Angel vanished as though it had never been there.
Lost in thought, the Florentine made his way home.
Had there really been a rose? Had there really been an Angel? Or had it all been a dream?
At home, nothing had been put in order, and there was no food. And somehow, everything felt terribly empty.
Yet there had never been this emptiness before.
The Florentine could not sleep.
Once again, he went outside. He wandered beneath the full moon, breathing in the fragrance of the flowers, remembering the rose, longing for it.
He watched the dawn break as he walked through the city, observing the sunlight glide across the rooftops, painting the windows rose-pink.
Exhausted, yet utterly changed—as though born anew—he returned home.
He threw open every window, took a sheet of paper and the first pencil he could find, and began to draw.
And so, an artist was born.

Meaning
It was created for the woman who walks lightly along the sunlit side of the street, changing the lives of others forever with the sheer beauty of her presence.
